How does offline mode work?
This feature is currently in an experimental phase, and we would love your feedback.
With offline mode, getSoapy keeps a copy of your work on your device, so you can carry on when your connection drops. Anything you change is sent as soon as you're back online.
What can I do in offline mode?
Currently, you can:
- Open the app and see your work in the Work view
- Mark jobs as done
- Browse and search your customers, and open a customer to see their jobs, invoices and balance
- Edit a customer's details
- Schedule a job (the change won't show until you're back online and it's been sent)
- View the Jobs and Rounds pages
- View your invoices and read your messages, if you're a manager or owner
You can't send messages, take payments, create invoices, accept quotes, change settings or run reports while offline.
All actions that are triggered from marking a job as done (such as sending a notification to the customer or generating an invoice) will be triggered once the app is connected to the internet again.
How do I enable offline mode?
You'll need to be connected to the internet to enable offline mode, so getSoapy can download a copy of your data. Once that's done, you can use the app without internet access.
Go to
Tools>Settings>getSoapy>Experimental featuresor search forExperimental features.Under
Work offline, turn on theWork offlinetoggle.
That's it. The next time you're without internet access, you'll be able to use the app in offline mode.
Offline mode is set for each device, so turn it on for every phone, tablet or computer you want to use offline. If the toggle is greyed out, the browser you're using can't keep a copy of your data. Private and incognito windows usually can't.
To check what's saved on your device, or whether any changes are waiting to send, go to Tools > Settings > Data > Working offline.
