How do I set up my free website?

You can set up a free website to advertise your business and services, all from the getSoapy app.

If you already have your own website, check out our plugin options to add the getSoapy quote, payment, documents, and customer portal widgets to your website.

Set up

To set up your free getSoapy website:

Go to Tools > Settings > Website > Setup your free website or search for Website type.
Under 'Website type', select Free getSoapy website.
Under 'Subdomain' enter the web address you'd like to use. This can be your business name, or something shorter.

Choose a subdomain that's simple and easy to spell. This will save you having to spell it out each time you tell a customer about your website!

Click Save.

Believe it or not, you're done! getSoapy will auto-populate your website with:

your logo, if you've uploaded one (for help uploading your logo, see How do I edit my business details?)
your business details (for help editing your details, see How do I edit my business details?)
a list of your services that have Show on website enabled (for help adding or editing your services, see How do I add and manage my services?)
a quote widget with an option to request quotes for your services that have 'Show on quote form' enabled (for help adding or editing your services, see How do I add and manage my services?)
a payment widget for customers to make payments
a documents widget if any documents have Share on website enabled (for help adding or managing your documents, see How do I add my business documents?)
the customer portal widget (see What is the getSoapy customer portal?)
links to your socials, if you've added any (for help adding your socials, see How do I add or edit my socials?)

See how your website is looking by entering the web address you entered under 'Subdomain'. It will look something like: example.getsoapy.com.

To get the full address for your website, go to Tools > Settings > Integrations > Links or search for Links. Use the copy icon on the right-hand side to copy the address, and paste it into your web browser.

You can also:

Change your website theme
Add or edit your website content
View your website stats
Add a custom domain

Change your website theme

Go to Tools > Settings > Website > Change theme or search for Change theme to see what other themes are available.

Click Preview to see what your website would look like with this theme.

You can also select a different theme colour. Scroll down and click Save to apply your changes.

Add or edit your website content

getSoapy auto-populates your website with your details and services. Go to Tools > Settings > Website > Update Content or search for Update Content where you can:

add text to the 'About' section of your website (next to the 'Request a quote' button)
add images to the 'About' section of your website
configure what details are displayed in the footer of your website

View your website stats

If you've set up your getSoapy website, you can view your website stats from the getSoapy app. Go to Tools > Home > Reports or search for Reports and select Website to see:

total page views for the selected date range
unique website visitors for the selected date range
graphs showing page views, unique visitors, and website traffic, over time

Delete my free website

If you need to take your free getSoapy website down (for instance, if you've created your own website):

Go to Tools > Settings > Website > Change website type or search for Website type.
Select No website and click Save.
