Adding a custom domain
Using a custom domain, like 'example.com' instead of 'example.getsoapy.com', gives your business a more professional look. It's easier for customers to remember and can help build trust.
How do I get a domain?
A domain registrar is a company where you can buy and register domain names. Think of it like a shop for website addresses. getSoapy doesn't sell these, but you can use any registrar to buy one and then use it with your getSoapy website.
Setup for the Plus Plan:
- Create a Website: If you haven't already, set up your getSoapy website.
- Access Settings: Go to the website section and choose 'Custom domain'.
- Type in Your Domain: Here, enter the custom domain you purchased.
- Collect DNS Settings: getSoapy will give you some DNS details. You can tap on these to copy them.
- Adjust Your Domain Settings: Go back to your domain registrar. There, find the area to change or add DNS details. Use the ones from getSoapy. If you're unsure how, the registrar's help or FAQ section can guide you.
And that's it! It can take time for the domain settings to take affect, but your getSoapy website will shortly be visible under your own custom domain.
