How do I migrate from GoCardless to getSoapy?

Enjoying the ease of getting paid using GoCardless? getSoapy has Direct Debit built in (powered by Stripe), so you don't need a separate provider account, plus it's 8p cheaper per payment than GoCardless. There's no extra subscription or setup cost for Direct Debit in getSoapy, you only pay the processing fee. Here's a quick guide on how to migrate from GoCardless to getSoapy.

In a nutshell: getSoapy does not integrate with GoCardless. You'll need to:

Export customers from GoCardless

Log in to your GoCardless dashboard, go to the Customers page, filter for your Active Subscriptions, and export your active customer list (including payment data and mandates) to a CSV file.

Import customers into getSoapy

Follow the steps in How do I bulk import existing customers? to clean up and import your customer data into getSoapy.

Set up payments in getSoapy

If you haven't already set up payments in getSoapy to accept payments by card, mobile wallet, or Direct Debit, follow the steps in Payments in getSoapy. You can then configure your payment options and methods.

Notify your customers and make the switch

We recommend you use a Broadcast for an initial "we're switching over, here's how to pay and access your portal" message, then use automatic Notifications for the ongoing updates like job reminders, completion messages, and overdue prompts. This way, customers get several opportunities to update their details and payment method.

Finally, you'll need to cancel your active subscriptions from your GoCardless dashboard so you don't accidentally double-charge customers. For more help on this, see this GoCardless customer support page.
