August 2026 release recap

August was a big month in getSoapy. Search got the upgrade it badly needed, jobs can be signed for on the doorstep, bank matching got smarter, and imports, reports and instalments all picked up useful extras.

Here are the biggest changes worth shouting about.

Search got a major upgrade

This was the headline update for August.

Search is clearer now, and much better when you need to narrow a list down without faffing about. Active filters are easier to see, and there are more ways to refine results across Customers, Jobs, Invoices, Payments, and more.

Day-to-day admin gets quicker as a result. Chasing overdue invoices, finding jobs due in the next fortnight, spotting customers with missing details, you get to the right list faster and with less guesswork. If your team already uses getSoapy to manage your window cleaning customers with ease, this is the update you will feel every day.

Highlights

• better comparison options like contains, excludes, before, after, between, empty, and not empty
• rolling date filters like "in the last 30 days" or "in the next 2 weeks"

Mark jobs done with location and signature

Another big one for teams out on the road.

You can now capture your location when marking a job as done, and collect a customer signature at the same time. That gives you a record of what happened, when, and where.

It adds proof without turning the job into a paperwork festival. For work that needs sign-off, or where a customer might later query whether anyone turned up, you have a clear trail. It fits with the way getSoapy already handles job scheduling for trades and work completed out in the field.

Bank reconciliation changes are on the way

Right at the end of August, we announced a move to a new bank reconciliation provider.

The aim is simple. Bank transactions should arrive more reliably and more often, customer payments should match faster, and turning an outgoing transaction into an expense with a receipt attached should take less work.

This is one of those updates that saves time quietly in the background. Less waiting, fewer odd gaps, less manual tidying up. If you rely on bank reconciliation software for window cleaners or something similar for your local service work, it pays you back in boring but useful ways.

Two extra controls came with it to make switching easier:

• start collecting payments from a set date
• stop collecting payments after a set date

Set both and you can move across cleanly, without collecting the same payment twice.

Smarter control over bank transaction matching

We also added new matching settings for bank transactions.

You can now choose how cautious getSoapy is when matching transactions to customers, from playing it safe to matching more automatically.

Different businesses want different things here. Some would rather only match when it is rock solid, others want the system doing more of the heavy lifting. Now you can pick the balance that suits you.

Deposits for invoice instalments

If you use invoice instalments, you can now mark the first instalment as a deposit.

When you do, getSoapy issues the invoice as soon as the job is scheduled, with the first instalment due on the scheduled date rather than waiting until the job is marked as done.

That matters most on bigger jobs where you need money up front. It gets cash in sooner, and it means deposits are a proper feature rather than a workaround. It builds on the tools already there for invoice software for cleaning business users who would rather not chase every penny by hand.

Smaller improvements that still pull their weight

A few quieter updates landed through August. They did not take the headline, but they earn their keep.

Import improvements

Imports give you more control now, including the option to:

• choose whether to import balances
• choose whether to import scheduled dates
• turn off customer notifications for that import
• add extra instructions for CSV processing
• see the uploaded CSV filename on each import

Less messing about before the import, and a clearer record afterwards.

More search and list improvements

A follow-up update added a bit more polish:

• saved search result counts in more places
• editable search pills
• search customers by broadcast and delivery status
• smoother scrolling through long lists

Not flashy. Properly useful if you spend half your week in search.

ARR report can now be filtered by service

You can now filter the ARR report by service, which makes it easier to see which services bring in repeat work and which ones are just making up the numbers.

The short version

August was about finding things faster, proving work more clearly, and handling money with less friction.

The search upgrade was the standout, with location and signature capture on completed jobs close behind. Add better control over bank matching, the reconciliation provider switch, and deposits on invoice instalments, and it was a solid month.
