March 2026 release recap
Posted by getSoapy on 6th April 2026 in Product Updates . Last updated: 6th April 2026
March was a tidy little month for updates, and the theme is simple: you've now got more control over what customers see, when messages go out, and how getSoapy prioritises what gets built next.
Here's everything that shipped in March 2026.
Notifications got a proper upgrade (and yes, it's a big one)
Released: 19 March 2026
If you've ever thought, "Why did that message go out then?", this one's for you. We've updated notifications so you can control when customer messages are sent, not just whether they're on or off.
New sending options
Alongside Immediately (the old behaviour), some notification types now support:
- Scheduled, so they send at a time you choose
- Manual, so you can send them in a batch when you're ready
Example: "Job due tomorrow"
Instead of it going out first thing in the morning (depending on your allowed times), you can choose the exact time it sends.
Or set it to Manual, and once you've scheduled tomorrow's jobs, you can send all your "tomorrow" notifications in one tap from the Daily tracker on the dashboard (new design only).
If you want to see how that fits the wider workflow, here's how we think about work scheduling and round planning for local service businesses.
Settings and templates are now together
Notification settings and message templates are now managed in one place:
Settings > Communications > Notifications
We've copied over your existing settings, so everything will continue as before, but the new options are ready to use straight away.
For the bigger picture on customer messaging, see safe & secure customer management. If you need to reach lots of customers in one go, Broadcasts is still there too.
Include job occurrence notes in message templates
Released: 18 March 2026
You can now include job occurrence notes in message templates, which is a fancy way of saying customers can get the helpful context you've already written, without you having to type it again.
To use it, add this merge tag to a message template: {{job.occurrenceNotes}}
Good use case: the "job skipped" notification. If you've noted "No access" or "Weather too rough", that can now be included automatically in the message the customer gets.

Choose your own Terms and Conditions for the quote widget
Released: 17 March 2026
You can now pick your own Terms and Conditions document for the quote widget, so customers agree to your terms when they request a quote, instead of the default getSoapy terms.
You can select any document from Policies & Documents, as long as it's set to Show on website, and it can be one you uploaded or created using an AI-assisted template.
To set it up:
- Go to Quote options in the More tab, or
Tools>Settings>Integrations>Quote options(new app design)
Then choose the document you want to use.
For how customers request quotes online, see the getSoapy customer portal. For storing policies and sharing paperwork from one place, see the Documents feature page.
Feature Suggestions now has voting
Released: 26 March 2026
We love the feature ideas you send in, and now it's easier for everyone to steer what matters most.
You can now:
- Vote up ideas you'd actually use
- Vote down ones you wouldn't
- Suggest your own ideas too
To start voting, go to: Settings > More > Feature Suggestions
If you've suggested something before, it may already be there with your vote.
